He is married to Jaymala Joshi and has two children. He twice received the best actor award from Indian National Theatre. He started his career as Ramu from maine Pyar Kiya in 1989 then Hum Aapke Hain Kaun as Bhola Prasad. His television career started from Kabhi Yeh Kabhi Who in 1995. He won many awards for his sitcom Tarak Mehta from 2008 which is still going on for 11 years now.
